Pre-Harvest Maintenance

Inspection Items:

  • Inspect bottom of elevator, make sure divider plate is intact. If it's loose, it will shred paddles.
  • Examine both upper and lower elevator chain sprockets to ensure that they don't have excessive ware. Ware will degrade accuracy.
  • Release tension pulley so that you can rotate elevator chain freely. When you rotate elevator chain, inspect every paddle, property bucket, and crud brush. (When a crud brush wares down to 8 inches of material, replace)
  • Overlook every J hook as you are rotating.
  • Examine the amount of space you have on the chain of lower sprocket. You want no more than 3/8" to pull down off of sprocket, while still being able to pull chain from side to side.
  • On top of the elevator take Check Gauge and ensure you're between A and D, in regards to clearance between the top paddle and mask flow sensor.
